This is a merger arb with a wide spread and a short runway to closing. A resource developer nearing first production has signed a binding agreement to be acquired at a large premium, close to the stock’s multi-year highs. The spread was already wide at announcement and has widened further since, with no news or updates. Most signs point to this deal closing successfully. The buyer has a pressing strategic reason to close and a tight schedule of its own, and the target fits that schedule almost perfectly.
