Plenty of successful historical precedents and a one-month timeline.
Split-offs have been a reliable hunting ground for odd-lot investors. Every one I have covered so far has closed on announced or improved terms. This new one follows the familiar template.
A large-cap parent is exiting its remaining stake in a partially listed subsidiary through an exchange offer. Holders who tender swap parent stock for subsidiary shares at a premium. Odd-lot positions are accepted in full, without proration. A parent dividend adds a small bonus for those who get in early.
Compared with the other split-off cases, this one looks a bit more risky as hedging availability at the moment is limited.
